Welcome to Bethel Church of God In Christ in Santa Barbara. This new site is part of our outreach to touch lives and proclaim the Good News of Christ Jesus to all nations. We will keep the site updated on a regular basis to show our event calendar and relevant topics to our community as well. Santa Barbara Bethel Church of God In Christ was originally founded in 1938 by Bishop Cox and was located at 810 E Montecito St under its original name Calvary Church of God In Christ. It has since moved to its current location at 236 E Cota St and has since continued to grow under the leadership of Pastor George Brooks, Sr. The Church has since grown and has been an active mission for serving the community and spreading the word of God in Santa Barbara and sorrounding cities.
Bethel Church of God In Christ is part of the larger Church of God In Christ which is headquartered in Memphis, TN and was founded in 1897 by Bishop Charles H. Mason and received its charter in 1906. The Church believes that the Bible is the word of God, inspired divinely by God and contains one sufficiently harmonious system of doctrine. The Church currently airs a broadcast program on Santa Barbara public television on Channel 17 and in Lompoc, CA on channel 25.
